I REALLY need some help & will try anything realistic anyone suggests. I was able to download & install updates manually too. What did work, on all three machines, was this: 1. Spend a better part of the day trying to get updates to install. have a peek here

Where is it etc? THAT saved my "@$$". Where Is Windows Update In Xp Re-registering with the windows dll commands helped me. Windows Update Xp Download After messing with this for a week, to have the "Fix it" gizmo run & cause SUCH a mess!
