Good question. What I have not figured out yet is why does the dld.sl library not resolve the libz.sl via SHLIB_PATH or LD_RUN_PATH or explicit pathing inside the library. Finally, I am looking at some the "make" compile/links to be sure that none of the intermediate libraries are not 32 bit.
