Hoping this had something to do with the problem.

I have even used RegMon and FileMon to assist with the diagnosis, but no "Access Denied" errors are genereted from either the file system or the registry. I've checked it out, but it all seems like stuff I have already tried.I am seeing this error in the SQLAgent Error log:[241] Startup error: Unable to initialize error reporting system Hoping this had something to do with the problem. The issue was that I had moved some folders manually and missed one of the permissions.
